This is Fernando from Santa Catarina in Brazil. Having strong connections to Sweden through sharing his first name with the ABBA hit, it comes as no surprise that he and his family decided to move to Stockholm. Being a mechanical engineer and holding a Ph.D. in Thermal Sciences, Fernando brings extensive experience from cooling and thermophysics which is truly valuable for GREEN14. That match might also have added to the relocation decision.

About GREEN14

Silicon production emits 105 million tonnes CO₂ per year, almost a third of the UK’s total emissions. We want to change that. Almost all silicon is extracted using an outdated method, involving enormous amounts of coal. With our technology, green hydrogen is used to replace coal as a necessary additive for the extraction process, drastically reducing carbon dioxide emissions.
